That's a really good question

I spend a lot of time listening to podcasts when I'm travelling to and from work. Most of the podcasts I listen to are about web development or different programming languages.

One thing that really annoys me is when someone asks the guest a question they nearly always reply back with "wow that's a great question" or "that's a really good question."

This is what I'm thinking each and every time:

No it's not a really good question! It's just a normal question. You're just buying time while you think of an answer. It's just another way of saying errrm. I would prefer to hear you say errrm.

You think you're flattering the interviewer, but you're forgetting that every guest says it to them about every question.

Please stop saying it. If you agree with me, share this post so the annoying guests will hear about it and stop saying it on future podcasts.
